This Thursday I will be away at a specialist appointment. I know that we have an early closure but unfortunately I had no control over the date. If you need/want to meet with me, please let me know and we will book a different time/day that works for both of us. You can always reach me by e-mail at [email protected].
As we are starting a new term, we are also starting new units in all the subjects this week. In Science we begin our last topic of the year (Diversity of Life). For P.E. we start out with a unit on Badminton before Track and Field starts. (this year we have our school track meet on May 14 so let's hope the weather is fantastic that day....the zone meet is the following Thursday, May 22). In L.A. we are beginning a new novel study (Island: Shipwreck (the first in a series)). For Math we are wrapping up our decimals/percent/fractions/area/perimeter unit with a big project this week and then the math groups will switch teachers again. So this week I am with the APs and next week I start off with the EPs.
We have a couple of presenters coming this week. Both happen to be on Wednesday (go figure). The morning has us listening to some presenters from the nursing program at TRU on brain injury prevention. They ask that all kids bring their helmets so they can be checked to make sure they are fitted properly (part of the program). Then, after recess, we have the RCMP coming to speak to us about internet safety and the ramifications of making bad decisions regarding the internet.
Let's take a look at these two weeks:
Monday, March 24 - P.E.
Tuesday, March 25 -
Wednesday, March 26 - Brain Injury Presentation, RCMP Presentation
Thursday, March 27- P.E., Early Closure, Ms. Lane away
Friday, March 28 -
Monday, March 31 - P.E.
Tuesday, April 1 -
Wednesday April 2 - Relay Fest (this takes place after school)
Thursday, April 3 - P.E.
