For math, we have our two groups and, for the most part, things seem to be going well. The groups are not necessarily static (a few have moved already) so we will continue to evaluate and make changes as necessary. In my group, we have covered a review of multiplication (please oh please practice those times tables at home....lots of what we do depends on their instant recall of times tables....) and this week we are wrapping up division before moving on. There will be a 'baby quiz' on Thurs or Friday depending on how the next day or two goes.
In Science we have talked about 'scientific method' and we did a science experiment together before recording the results. As a class, we reviewed those results and took notes on how to fill in the lab sheets.
In HACE we are talking about 'bullying' (what that looks like, how to deal with it, how to avoid it). This will carry on for a few more classes.
Just a note that in honour of recycling week, we are taking part in a few presentations next week regarding recycling, 'waste free' lunch, and worm composting. Hopefully you all do some sort of recycling at home but if your child comes home with questions or comments....now you know why.
