In L.A. we have gotten to a really exciting part of the book. We only have a few chapters to go before the end so things are really heating up. We will be doing a lot of writing over the next few weeks so that we can really stress the editing and revising process. We will also be continuing with our grammar program.
In Math we will continue to focus on improper fractions and mixed numbers for the next couple of weeks before doing a little review. After Spring Break the math groups will switch teachers. If your child has had me for math up until now, they will now have Mrs. Erichuk for the remainder of the year. (The opposite of course if they have had Mrs. Erichuk up until now).
For Science, we are continuing on with Extreme Environments until after Spring Break. This week we will be doing a science experiment on using technology to explore space. We have also joined a national program called 'Marsville'. This is where students in groups research and build a project that represents how life could survive on Mars. At the end of this project we will be traveling to the Henry Grube centre to join other schools and share our projects.
We have wrapped up basketball in P.E. and are now moving on to 'racquet sports' . Mr. Johnson (sd73 P.E. coordinator) will be coming on Tuesday to show us a few new games and we will carry on until after the break. Then shortly after that there will be Track and Field. Already! Wow.
