We have our Christmas concert coming up in just a couple of weeks. We have a morning and an afternoon performance on December 13th. For our song (no space to dance this year so we are just singing) we ask that the kids dress up as hippies (our song is called 'Power to the People'). Some suggestions are tye-died t-shirts, round glasses, fringe vests, wide legged pants, birkenstocks, headbands.... pretty much anything that represents that era. Our partner class is Mrs. Trestain's grade 3s.
This week we are working on making our way through our novel study, practising xmas concert songs (three times a week for the next two weeks), using our writing program, wrapping up our unit on Addictions in HACE, and heading to our last couple of science classes on Electricity. It will soon be all about Christmas......
Heads up that we have a fundraiser Movember moustache shaving event this Friday. Mr. Dhaliwal and Mr. Aziz will be shaving their moustaches in an assembly. It will cost $1 (certainly more is welcome)to go in a watch and cheer. All funds raised will be donated to the cancer society on behalf of one day eradicating prostate cancer....
One last event to talk about.....Parkcrest is hosting Family Math Nights. This Wednesday, and the next two Wednesdays following. It will take place in my classroom from 6:45-7:45. The host is Mr. Thor Fridriksson. Mr. McVittie (our Vice Principal) will most likely be there for part of it too. It is free and all are welcome....Come on out!
