You may have heard (or seen) your child is working with an online program called Reflex math. This is made available to us through a grant as the program itself is quite expensive. This program is intended to help cement 'basic facts' as instant knowledge for all students. It is individualized and will be done for the first 15 minutes of each day in the computer lab. Students can work on it at home as well. It has a game component (games have to be 'earned' based on progress). Please feel free to let me know any comments or questions that you have as the makers of the program do request feedback.
We are having a school fundraiser for prostate cancer as this is 'Movember'. Mr. Aziz and Mr. Dhaliwal will be shaving their moustaches in front of the school on November 30. Admission will be $1 and all proceeds will go towards this worthy cause.
As I was away on Friday, I did not send home the class dojo behaviour reports. I will do so at the end of this week instead.
In the interest of trying to keep this shorter, I will let you know that we are working on decimals in math (division and multiplication), and parallel vs series circuits in science. Also we are done volleyball in P.E. and will be doing some cooperative games before the gym is closed for practices. Other then that, we will be carrying on with our units already in place.
Let's take a look at this week:
Monday, Nov. 19 - P.E.
Tuesday, Nov. 20 -
Wednesday, Nov. 21-Scholastic Book Fair
Thursday, Nov. 22 - Scholastic Book Fair, P.E. (no sign out this week)
Friday, Nov. 23 - Games at lunch in the gym
As always, you can reach me at [email protected]
