In L.A. we have started our novel study (Shipwreck) and we are working on learning questioning strategies for our Reading Power program. In Math, we have had a full week of our 'math switch'. We have been looking at 'integers' and are now moving on to 'order of operations'. The students that I am teaching have provided feedback that they are enjoying the switch and like the different setting. Please let me know if there are any concerns that you have. In Science, we are looking at 'extreme environment's and are going to be doing a science experiment this week. For HACE I had said last week that we will be starting a unit on tobacco, alcohol and drugs but we have switched topics due to the availability of the resource materials. So instead we will be starting with 'nutrition' and then the other unit will follow. For P.E. we have been doing 2 periods a week of basketball and one period where we do something completely different.
A busy week is ahead of us. We have gotten into our routines again since the winter break and are running full steam ahead with our units.

Our trip is scheduled for Feb. 4th. The timing is quite bad because we also go skating the Monday after the tubing (I had to go with the date that Sun Peaks had available.....). Skating notices will be coming home this week and I will make sure they are a different colour. Let's take a look at this week.... Monday, Jan. 17 - P.E. day Tuesday, Jan. 18 - Mr. Johnson here for P.E. Wednesday, Jan. 19 - Thursday, Jan. 20 - P.E. day Friday, Jan. 21 - Library Day As always, yo

Words have a magical power. They can bring either the greatest happiness or deepest despair; can transfer knowledge from teacher to students words enable the orator to sway his audience and dictate its decisions .Words are capable of arousing the strongest emotions and prompting all man's actions , Do not ridicule the use of words in psychotherapy.
