In L.A. we have been starting our new novel for reading, doing presentations for speaking and listening, and working on our grammar skills in writing. In Math, the switch continues and those of you in Group 1 (with me), we have a test this Monday.....yep....the 24th. For those in Group 2 (with Mrs. Erichuk), your test is Tuesday the 25th. There is an upcoming French test this Thursday that everyone should be busy studying for (it's a vocab test and every single student has a list of words to memorize). In HACE we are starting our unit on nutrition this week. For Science, we have gotten in to our unit on Extreme Environments.....for the last two weeks we have looked at the arctic and this week.........well wait and see! While we do have a focus on drama this term for Fine Arts, we also will be carrying on with exploring different mediums in art. In P.E. we have a focus on basketball for a few weeks before moving in to 'racquet sports' (well okay.....badminton).
Please oh please do not forget to send in your tubing notice and $ as soon as possible. There also is a skating notice that goes home (no money necessary) that needs to be signed and returned asap.
There is a boys basketball tournament all day Friday and, at the same time, the class will be running a concession. The schedule will be thrown out the window but we'll try to keep things as normal as possible.
