In Science we are carrying on with microscopes. This week we are looking at onion skins and comparing the cells to human cells. In HACE, we have a quiz on Tuesday on Emergency Scene Management (from our first aid unit). In L.A. we are carrying on with our novel study, working on our writing program, and beginning to look at 'visualization' as a reading strategy. In Math, we are moving on this week to transformational geometry and using coordinates.
This Friday is 'International Day'. It's a day that we celebrate all sorts of other cultures through food (please also feel free to wear/bring traditional clothes, pictures, artifacts etc). You do not have to make food from your own culture, any celebration will do. For me, I will bring Irish soda bread (and yes, I am Irish).
That's the basics for right now. Thanks very much for everyone getting in their swimming notices and money. Believe it or not, we start swimming at the end of this month. Already. Keep in mind that there is also a 4 day weekend coming up for kids (3 days for the teachers).
