This week in math we are tackling long division and then we have to move on next week. We will have a quiz at the end of this week on Multiplication/Division of larger numbers. While it does not come easily to everyone, we are persevering and everyone is able to do a little bit more then they were two weeks ago. All we can ask. It is apparent that more practice is needed with most students on learning their basic times tables up to 12 X 12. Please oh please if you have the time, do card games, flash cards, download apps, whatever you can think of to get some extra practice in at home. In L.A. we are working on our novel study, making 'connections' in reading, practicing our basic writing skills (using our program, Communication Skills), and listening to basic stories and answering questions afterwards. In Science we are working on Electricity. This week we attempt to build a salt water battery. It may or may not work but the process is what is important. We have taken notes on how to write a lab sheet, they have done a practice lab sheet, and now this is the first one that they will be marked on. Labs are due Wed. (Fri for Mrs. Erichuk's class).
