Just a few things....
We have student teachers as of April the 5th (both classes) and they will be here for two weeks.
We have an 'egg drop' celebration on Mar. 28 - information was sent home in the newsletter on how to make your contraption. DO NOT SEND EGGS......they are being supplied and will be put in by Mr. Aziz.
Boogie the Bridge is upcoming in the community. We have registered Parkcrest (not as a school field trip.....just so that anyone from Parkcrest and their families can register through our team and save some $$).....What this means is that any student who wishes to participate can do so on the Parkcrest team. The school that ends up with the most registered families will receive an ice cream party and $200. Again....this is not a school field trip. This is an event for families.
The grade 6 students now have the option of ordering a 'transition' hoodie. They will be black with a special design on them and a 'class of '13......if ordering....please write on the order form "Grade 6 grade hoodie" (these are the same order forms as the school clothing orders but you just need to indicate if it is a grade 6 one). Clothing orders have been extended to April 5.
Mrs. Erichuk and I have talked it over, asked about the policy with teachers at Brock, and have decided that students can bring music devices to school. During a work period, I will allow them to 'plug in'. Never during instructional time. If they abuse the privilege (which I know they won't), I will remove the device until the next break. Twice and it will be removed for the day and stored at the office. The third time the parents will have to pick it up at the office and it is not to come back to school. We have been doing this for a week or so and it has been very successful. Not one student has broken the rules. At all. This does not extend to the whole school so I have asked the students to not pass it around that they get to while others don't. WE ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR LOOKING AFTER ANYONE'S MUSIC DEVICE..... (please make sure they have a lock for their locker).
Don't forget that the first week back after Spring Break is a short one as Good Friday is that week and then Easter Monday is the following (crazy how close together these holidays are this year).
Have an excellent Spring Break. Rest, relax, play......I will see you in a week.
